I graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. I also graduated with minors in Space and Computer Science. I cherished my time at CU and participated on as many teams and clubs as I could. I am grateful for the Global Engineering RAP for helping foster a wonderful community and teaching me the value of a global perspective. Below are a few projects I contributed to during my five years at CU.
I was a member of the CU Rover Team for multiple years while studying at CU Boulder. I contributed as a mechanical engineer, a systems engineer, and a project manager. This team taught me about raising funds, organizing large groups, and the logistics of a small "company".
As student staff for the Idea Forge at CU, I was primarily working in the Makerspace for Josh Colyer. My role included teaching and certifying students to use the facilities. This included chop saws, band saws, table saws, the drill press, and safety. I also assisted with workshops and various projects for the university.
For my capstone project within the Mechanical Engineering department at CU, I was selected for the CU Wind Team. As the CAD Engineer for the Wind Team I was primarily responsible for the CAD and drawings created within SolidWorks. A notable outcome from this project is the subsea suction bucket platform we designed for supporting our small scale energy generating wind turbine.
