I worked for Reach Systems Inc. from Oct. 2022 - May 2024. As a Mechanical Engineer working under the VP of Engineering, I gained a tremendous amount of experience and I'm grateful to have contributed at the beginning of this company! Below is a summary of the work I did while at Reach.
Expanded and improved Reach Systems'Â Cable Reel designs, including motorized versions of existing reels. Primary contributions include weight reduction and scalable components for our modular reels.
Designed and produced a demonstration for a remotely operated Launch and Recovery Systems and Tether Management System for a subsea ROV. This design included brushed DC motors, a scissor mechanism, a waterproof electronics enclosure, solenoid actuators, and magnetic switches.
Custom engineering projects include analog camera systems, onsite client support, waterproof electronics enclosures, custom tether solutions (potting and terminations), and ultrasonic testing arrays.
Designed, tested, and produced a portable camera controller system for harsh environments. Integrated off-the-shelf (OTS) components with custom components to create a configurable design that can accomodate an analog camera, an IP camera, and an PTZ camera.
Designed, tested, and produced the Auk Camera based on a client request for a small, configurable, and depth rated (2000 msw) camera to mount onto ROVs. This camera is now a standard product for Reach.
Developed a dive camera system by integrating previously designed products into a useful and original platform for inspection purposes.
